Rezoning Approved For New Dollar General Store

In a unanimous vote, Johnston County Commissioners approved a request to rezone a two acre tract of land for a new Dollar General store.  The property is located at the intersection of US Highway 701 South and Keen Road, just east of Four Oaks.

Glandon Forest Equity LLC received approval to rezone a parcel owned by Tony Delmon Lee from agricultural-residential to General Business.  The public hearing was originally scheduled for October but the applicant failed to appear at the rezoning hearing.  Commissioners postponed the hearing until their November meeting.

In July 2020, Dollar General confirmed they were considering the site for their third Four Oaks area location.  Once completed, the new store on Highway 701 will employ approximately 10 full-time workers.

Dollar General has two other Four Oaks area locations at 9817 Highway 210 and 6043 Highway 301 South.
