WASHINGTON – Congressman David Rouzer (NC-07) has announced Hayden Wall of Mount Olive in Wayne County is this year’s winner of the Seventh Congressional District Art Competition. Wall is a rising sophomore at the Wayne Country Day School. The winning piece, entitled “Nautical Delight” is a photograph of the Jolly Roger Pier in Topsail Beach.
Wall’s work will hang in the halls of the U.S. Capitol complex for a year, along with winners from other congressional districts across the nation.
“North Carolina is blessed to have many young people with great talent,” said Congressman Rouzer. “It’s always exciting to see their incredible artwork on display each year in the U.S. Capitol from all across the country. Congratulations to Hayden on being this year’s winner in the 7th District. I am sure his family and his art teacher at the Wayne Country Day School, Karen Barfield, are very proud.”
