Roger Pope Appointed To My Kid’s Club Board Of Directors

My Kid’s Club of Johnston County has announced the addition of Roger Pope, a UNC Kenan Flagler School of Business graduate and banker of 33 years, to its board of directors.  Mr. Pope, who grew up in eastern North Carolina, is a Commercial Relationship Manager with United Community Bank in Smithfield and is currently serving as Chairman of the Annual Fundraising Campaign for My Kid’s Club of Johnston County.

My Kid’s Club is a 501(c)(3) not for profit.  It provides educational opportunities for low resource children with its flagship campus located at Selma Elementary School. This summer it will conduct camp programs in Smithfield and Benson which will offer unique opportunities for children from 1st through 8th grades. Representatives of the Morehead Planetarium at UNC Chapel Hill will deliver special class instruction this summer related to our solar system, space exploration and the eventuality of astronauts landing on Mars.

This summer, hundreds of Johnston County kids will enjoy and benefit from the learning experiences they will find when enrolled in My Kid’s Club.

My Kid’s Club board of directors consists of Kay Carroll, Shirley Cohen, Leo Daughtry, Jennifer Narron-Hardy, Olivia Holding, Jean Kelly, Wendy Kelly, Roger Pope, Meg Scovil, Durwood Stephenson, William White and Thad Woodard.
