Royal Ranger Benjamin Powell Recognized

A Royal Ranger Gold Medal of Achievement Ceremony was held at Grace Community Assembly of God for Benjamin Shane Powell from Royal Ranger Outpost 132 of Smithfield. During the ceremony Ben was awarded the Gold Medal of Achievement by Reverend Brady Allen, District Royal Ranger Director.

Representative Donna White (District 26) of Clayton attended and presented a congratulatory letter to Ben. There were many other letters from elected leaders across North Carolina given to Ben.

Johnston County Sheriff Steve Bizzell wrote a letter to Ben congratulating him on his accomplishments. Other attendees included Elite members of the Frontiersmen Camping Fellowship who gave him a variety of handmade gifts. Family and friends were also in attendance.

Ben’s Royal Ranger career started in Ranger Kids, Discovery, Adventure, and Expedition Rangers. The Trail to the Gold Medal of Achievement is filled with adventure and hard work aimed at completing a host of requirements.

Ben is currently a senior at SSS High School. He is the son of Donnie and Lori Powell (stepmother) of Selma and Amy Austin of Smithfield. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the church.
