Runaway Juvenile From Wisconsin Found Safe In Johnston County

A 14-year old runaway female was found safe at a Johnston County address near Benson.

The juvenile was reported missing in August 2019 from Sun Prairie, Wisconsin by her mother and was thought to be in the Wilson’s Mills or surrounding area in Johnston County.

Wilson’s Mills Police Sgt. T. L.  Winstead followed up on several recent tips that led to her location.  With the help of NC Community Corrections probation officers, the girl was found residing with a female probationer and her identity was confirmed.

Johnston County juvenile and court authorities were notified and proper transfer into custody of juvenile services was completed.  The girl’s family was contacted and are currently making arrangements to come to North Carolina.  Police Chief A.Z. Williams also thanked the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance.
