SAMPSON COUNTY – The State Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of a single vehicle accident that claimed the life of a 20 year-old. It happened at 10:27am Saturday on Dave Bright Road near Pine Ridge Road outside Turkey, NC.
Troopers said Kjuan Woodard, 21, of Goldsboro was traveling north on Dave Bright Road when he ran off the road to the right, striking a mailbox and ditch culvert. The car came to rest off the roadway.
A passenger, Keyli Nichole Calix, 20, of Turkey, NC died at the scene.
Speed was not a factor and impairment is not suspected.
