Sampson County Shooting Victims Identified

CLINTON – The Sampson County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate a quadruple shooting. The victims were shot around 1:30pm Tuesday on Boykin Road near Shaun Lane then driven in privately owned vehicles to the Sampson Regional Medical Center in Clinton.

One person died at the hospital. Three others were wounded.

The deceased victim has been identified as 18 year-old Tabias Darden of Faison. The others have been identified as a 16 year-old juvenile from Faison, NC; Emari Butler, age 17, of Mill Creek Church Road, Newton Grove, NC; and Arhmond “AJ” Faison, age 21, of Shaun Lane, Clinton.

Authorities said the shooting stemmed from an altercation, however no additional information has been released.

The conditions of the three surviving victims has also not been disclosed.

As a precaution, Sampson Regional Medical Center was briefly placed on lock down Tuesday afternoon.
