The Johnston County School Board has entered into a lease agreement with a company to locate a cell tower on the campus of Corinth Holders High School. The board agreed to lease a 10,000 square foot section of the school property (0.229 acres) to TowerCo 2013 LLC.
The initial lease term is for 5 years with renewal for up to 20 additional years. The school system will receive an annual rent payment of $14,400 with a yearly rental increase of two percent.
School officials said the cell tower will “drastically increase cellular service in the area.”
This is some of the dumbest mess I have heard
Your gonna wish you never gave none of the schools land to a cell phone tower
How is it dumb? That area has awful cell service.
Previous, when this was proposed, they stated the land was unfit for other buildings. If that is correct, I don’t see the problem.
The only thing I hope is that the money for the rental goes to the school, I’m not sure exactly where they’re putting this up but if it’s where I’m thinking it means the school might lose a practice field, but I might be mistaken and they could be putting it in the woods behind the school.
