The Johnston County School Board has agreed to purchase Chromebooks for use in the classroom.
$515,000 was budgeted for the purchase of Chromebooks for student use.
Riverside Technologies, Inc. was the low bidder at $199.52 per unit which includes management licensing, configuration service, shipping and taxes.
The school board voted unanimously to purchase 2,580 HP 11 G4 Chromebooks at a cost of $514,750.64 for use in 27 public schools across the county.
A total of 19 companies submitted bids, and Riverside Technologies was the lowest per unit bidder.
