Authorities have not ruled out two business robberies are connected. Around 7:00pm Friday, a lone male wearing dark clothing entered Auto Zone at 280 Old Drug Store Road, at the I-40/NC42 interchange, and robbed the business of an undisclosed amount of cash.
Deputies said the suspect approached an employee and stated, “Give me all the money from the register.” The employee complied. The suspect then fled on foot.
Investigators at the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office are trying to determine if the same suspect may be responsible for the December 12th robbery at Advance Auto Parts at 5992 Highway 42 West, also at the I-40/NC42 interchange.
No injuries were reported in either incident. Anyone with any information about the armed robberies is asked to contact sheriff’s detectives at 919-989-5000. Callers can remain anonymous.
