For the second time in as many months, crimes have been reported on the campus of a local elementary school.
On Wednesday, officials at River Dell Elementary School at 12100 Buffalo Road, Clayton reported someone had caused $900 in damage and vandalism.
Principal Benjamin Troy Williams reported to the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office the incident occured sometime between Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning. Among the items damaged were a mulch bed, mailbox, and flagpole lanyard. Officials said some of the damage was caused by a dirt bike.
On June 15th, school officials reported four mobile classrooms at the same school were broken into the previous weekend. Someone pried open doors to the mobile units then discharged fire extinguishers inside.
