A second arrest has been made in a home invasion near Smithfield.
On August 6th, an elderly woman was asleep in her home on Crantock Road. Around 5:00am, she was awakened by two suspects dressed in all black clothing and wearing ski masks who had forced open her back door. The suspects grabbed $500 worth of jewelry and fled.
Last week, 17 year-old Jason Joseph Bahe of Hugh Drive, Smithfield was arrested and charged with first-degree burglary, second-degree kidnapping, and larceny. Bail was set at $100,000.
Days after the home invasion, deputies arrested 18 year-old Kaleb Dylan Hines of Crantock Road, Smithfield on the same charges. The elderly woman was shaken but not physically harmed.
