Selma Celebrates New Pickleball Courts With Grand Opening Event

SELMA — The Town of Selma will celebrate the official grand opening of four new pickleball courts located at the Richard B. Harrison Athletic Complex on Saturday, September 14. Pickleball, invented in 1965, has recently become a popular sport in surrounding communities.

The event will begin at 11:00 AM with an official ribbon cutting and a “Fun Play” Tournament.

The Town of Selma is excited to welcome these new courts to the developing grounds of the Richard B. Harrison Athletic Complex located at 601 W Noble Street, Selma. They join the already-established Outdoor Fitness Court and will soon welcome more amenities to the complex.

The public is invited to attend this event to learn more about the sport and is welcome to return to enjoy the new courts. Pickleball rules and court guidelines will be placed at the entrance of the new courts, allowing athletes of all experience levels to participate.
