At the request of a concerned citizen, the Selma Town Council has unanimously approved lowering the speed limit on Poole Drive. The speed limit was 35mph. It has now been lowered to 25mph.
Officials agreed that with significant amounts of residential activity and children playing in the area, reducing the speed limit would help ensure citizens safety. Poole Drive is often used by drivers crossing from Highway 301 to Highway 96.
Selma Police will now be enforcing the new lower speed limit.
