CLAYTON – A Selma man was arrested July 16th during a traffic stop on Highway 42 East near Buffalo Road. At 3:24pm, a patrol deputy with the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle. During the traffic stop, the officer said he detected an odor of marijuana coming from inside the car.
During a search of the car, suspected methamphetamines and marijuana was allegedly found.
Benjamin James Peedin, 34, of Firetower Road, was charged with felony possession of methamphetamines, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Peedin was given a $15,000 secured bond on the criminal charges.
