Selma Man Wanted By NYPD

A routine traffic stop Sunday morning led to the arrest of a Johnston County man on a fugitive warrant from the New York City Police Department.

Around 10:25am, a Smithfield Police officer stopped a vehicle in the 2300 block of South Brightleaf Boulevard.  Police said they determined 47 year-old David Gillbert Rosado of Shady Grove Court, Selma was wanted for a felony fugitive warrant for grand larceny by the New York City Police Department. He was taken into custody and held without bond pending extradition.

A second person, Tanya Lynne Norris-Rodriquez of Allen Court, Four Oaks was charged with obstructing an officer and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police Chief Keith Powell said Norris-Rodriquez gave the officer a fictitious name.
