Selma Police Chief, Captain Honored With Distinguished Service Award

Selma Police Chief R.A. Cooper and Captain R.L. Daniels received the Selma Police Department 2017 Distinguished Service Award on Tuesday.

The police department awards committee recognized the two lawmen who have both served the Town of Selma for more than 20 years.

The Distinguished Service Award is given to officers for their exceptional accomplishments, including significant and major contributions to the development of programs, policies and procedures while having a positive impact on their department and community.

Both officers were recognized Tuesday for the tremendous impact they have had on the Selma community.
