Selma Police Welcome New Female Officer

Officer-Monique-Joyner-FIThe Selma Police Department has welcomed a new officer to the force.

Officer Monique Joyner was introduced to members of the Selma Town Council on Nov. 10th.

Joyner, 24, is a Selma resident. She recently graduated from Basic Law Enforcement Training in May 2015.  

Police Chief R.A. Cooper said Joyner received positive accolades from her instructors. She is the second female officer on the force of 24 officers.

Chief Cooper said Joyner is also bi-lingual which will help police when responding to calls.
