Selma Road Project Requires Closure For Railroad Work

Closure tentatively starts Monday, July 15

Ricks Road in Selma will be closed to through traffic for about two weeks starting Monday, July 15 to allow the CSX Corporation to reconstruct its railroad crossing.

The signed detour will take drivers on U.S. 70 and U.S. 301. Ricks Road in Selma is a popular shortcut for both highways.

The N.C. Department of Transportation is widening Ricks Road. The project will add a middle turn lane and concrete curbs and gutters. As part of the project, CSX will replace and extend its railroad crossing over Ricks Road.

The $3.6 million widening project is on pace to be completed and opened to traffic by this fall.
