After serving the Town of Selma less than a year, Town Clerk and Administrative Services Director Cynthia Richardson has announced her resignation.

Richardson was hired by the Town of Selma in March. Her last day on the job will be October 30th.

Prior to being hired in Selma, Richardson was employed in Nashville, NC for 30 years as their Town Clerk and Human Resources Director. She also had a background in municipal government with Safety and Purchasing.

Richardson told WTSB News on Friday she has accepted another position.  “I have enjoyed working with the citizens and the town staff.”

Selma’s Finance Director Kim Batten recently resigned to accept a position as Archer Lodge Town Clerk.
