Selma Youth Wins Regional Motorcross Championship

We first introduced you to Hudson Kuritz of Selma back in May. Hudson, a rising first grader at Neuse Charter School, had just finished in fourth place at the AMSOIL Amateur National Championships held at The Orleans Arena in Las Vegas.

This month, Hudson competed in the Rocky Mount ATV/Motorcross Northeast Regional Championship at Birch Creek Motorsports Park in Sutherlin, Virginia. Hudson raced against 30 other 4-to-6 year olds in three race events and finished in first place.

The 6 year-old has a busy summer schedule. He is practicing and getting ready for the Rocky Mountain ATV/Motorcross AMA Amateur National Motorcross Championship in Hurricane Mills, TN July 30th – August 4th. The event will take place on Loretta Lynn’s private ranch, which hosts the National Championship event each year. Hudson will be competing against winners and other qualifiers from seven other regions from around the country.

Considering that Hudson has been racing less than two years he is doing extremely well.

He is the son of Brent and Ashley Kuritz of Selma.  Hudson credits his father for his interest in racing, saying he likes to ride dirt bikes and go fast.  When he gets bigger he plans to attend NC State and become a motorcross racer.
