SELMA – The Max G. Creech Selma Historical Museum is proud to announce its Fifth Annual Juneteenth Celebration.
“This year our museum cordially invites all of our local Johnston County families, groups, students and history lovers to our Fifth Annual Juneteenth event”, said Eric Jackson, Education and Projects Coordinator, with the Selma Historical Museum.
The Juneteenth Celebration will begin at 11:00am on Saturday, June 24. The program will look at the history and meaning of “Juneteenth” a holiday which celebrates the announcement of the ending of slavery in Texas in 1865.
The event will be held in the museum 104 West Anderson Street in “Uptown” Selma.
Mr. Jackson added, “There will be songs, door prizes, and fellowship for all.”
The Museum is open Saturdays from 10:00 am – Noon. Private tours and Special Group Tours are available upon request
