UPDATE 8:45PM: The State Highway Patrol has confirmed the driver of a tractor trailer involved in a single vehicle accident Wednesday morning died in the crash. The name of the driver has not been released. The truck was hauling frozen food products. Upon impact, the load shifted and went through the front of the trailer and into the cab of the truck.
KENLY – The State Highway Patrol is investigating a serious tractor trailer crash on Interstate 95 in Johnston County. The single vehicle accident was reported around 11:15am today (Wednesday) near Kenly.
Initial reports indicate the tractor trailer was traveling southbound, at the the 107 mile marker, when the semi ran off the roadway to the right and slammed into a group of trees.
Emergency crews have closed one southbound lane of the interstate, which has caused significant traffic delays.
The Kenly Fire Department, Johnston County EMS, State Highway Patrol, and NC Department of Transportation remain on the scene. The NCDOT estimates both southbound lanes will be reopened by 4:00 o’clock this afternoon.

I bet he fell asleep at the wheel. Just a guess. So sad about this but Thank God no one else was hurt. A truck that size could have killed many people. Again, so sad for the driver and Prayers for his family.
