Several Reported Injured In US 701 Accident

FOUR OAKS, N.C. — Emergency personnel responded to a traffic accident involving a bus transporting farmworkers and a passenger car Tuesday night near Four Oaks.

The collision was reported around 9:00 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 701 South and Strickland’s Crossroads Road.

Multiple Johnston County EMS units, North Carolina State Highway Patrol troopers, Johnston County Sheriff’s deputies, and members of the Strickland’s Crossroads Fire Department responded to the scene.

Unconfirmed reports indicated approximately 13 people sustained minor injuries in the crash. Many of the injured were evaluated and treated at the scene and did not require transportation to a hospital.

Emergency crews remained at the scene for an extended period assisting those involved and investigating the accident.
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is investigating the collision.
