Several traffic accidents were reported Monday morning on Interstate 40 in Johnston County. Most of the crashes happened around the 313 mile marker.
One westbound accident involved a tractor trailer and black passenger car that slid off the roadway onto the shoulder.
There were two separate single car crashes on the eastbound side. Both vehicles slid off I-40 and became tangled in the median cables.
The NC Highway Patrol is investigating the crashes.
