A registered sex offender has been charged with a shooting that occurred on New Year’s Day.
On January 1st a person was shot while at a home on Mansion Lane near Goldsboro. Deputies later identified 32 year-old Nathan Hales McDuffie Jr., also of Mansion Lane, as a suspect.
McDuffie was arrested Friday by Wayne County deputies and charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and failure to verify an address as a sex offender.
He was confined in the Wayne County Jail under a $111,000 bond.
