Sexual Assault Reported To Police

SMITHFIELD – Police detectives are investigating a sexual assault. The alleged incident happened Saturday, Feb. 15 at an apartment on NC Highway 210 in the Smithfield city limits.

Police said the teenage victim was among several people at a gathering when she was allegedly raped.

No additional details were released due to the ongoing investigation.
