A surplus rescue boat owned by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office has been donated to the Princeton Fire Department.
Sheriff Steve Bizzell received approval this month from Johnston County Commissioners to surplus a 2005 inflatable rubber rescue boat and donate it along with several accessories to the non-profit volunteer fire department.
The NRS rescue boat was purchased in September 2005 by the sheriff’s office. The Princeton Fire Department will use the boat to assist with water rescue operations in Johnston County.
