Sheriff’s Office Seeks SUV Driver After NC 42 East Break-In

KENLY — The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a break-in that occurred early Sunday morning at Collier’s General Store on NC 42 East, near Ollie Road.

Deputies were called to the scene around 7:00 a.m. on October 26, after reports of a break-in. Several collectible memorabilia items were stolen, including 50 knives, a Miller neon sign, a vintage Coca-Cola button sign, two Texaco signs, 10 model cars, a Coca-Cola sign, a John Deere sign, and a John Deere can. The total value of the stolen property was estimated at $2,221.

A neighbor told deputies they noticed a newer model black SUV in the store’s driveway shortly before the crime was discovered. The neighbor chased the vehicle, driven by a Black male, on NC 222, before losing sight of the vehicle near NC 231.
