A Johnston County man was injured after being shot with an AR-15. The incident was reported shortly after 7:00pm Sunday at an address on Jerusalem Church Road outside of Kenly.
The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office said a 53 year-old man was cleaning his AR-15 rifle when it discharged striking him in the forearm. The victim was transported to the hospital where he was treated for a minor injury and released. The shooting was ruled accidental.
No charges are expected to be filed.
