A woman driving alone late at night said someone fired a gun striking her vehicle.
The 28 year-old Johnston County woman was driving her car on Highway 231 near Richardson Road last Sunday night.
As she approached the rural intersection, not far from the Nash County line, she said a gold minivan began to follow her very closely. The operator of the minivan also placed their headlights on bright.
Moments later the victim said she heard at least two gunshots. One of the bullets struck the trunk of her car. Luckily the woman wasn’t hit.
Johnston County deputies said the incident appears to be isolated. They are searching for a gold minivan, possibly a Toyota, wanted in connection with the shooting.
