Shots Fired Into Home

A Johnston County man and his wife are counting their blessings and bullet holes after shots were fired into their home off Highway 50 North of McGee’s Crossroads.

The couple, who are in their 60’s, were inside their home near the intersection of Roberts Road watching TV just after midnight Sunday when they heard a loud bang.  They located 3 bullet holes in the walls of their residence.

The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and seized at least one of the bullets that had traveled through the home and lodged in the exterior wall next to their rear door.

Deputies searched the area Sunday morning but could not locate anyone who may have fired a gun.  Authorities said there was no evidence suggesting it was intentional but are still continuing their investigation.

The couple was not harmed.
