Single Family Housing Permits Up Sharply

Pine-Level-Construction-2-FINew single family home construction permits jumped 27% in November in Johnston County, compared to the same month in 2014.

The Johnston County Inspections Department issued 66 permits for new single family homes last month, up from 52 in November 2014, an increase of about 27%.  The average value of the new home permits was $169,555, down slightly from $170,380 in November 2014.

Fewer manufactured housing permits were issued in November. Only 3 doublewide and 11 singlewide permits were issued, down from 6 doublewide and 15 singlewide permits in Nov. 2014. 

The Inspections Department collected $108,843.20 in fees last month up from $102,586.80 a year earlier.

Inspectors passed 2849 inspections last month and failed 988.
