FOUR OAKS – Six people were injured in a three vehicle accident Monday afternoon at the intersection of US 701 and NC 96 near Interstate 95. Multiple police, fire, and EMS units responded to the 12:30pm crash.
According to an eyewitness, a silver Honda SUV was traveling north on Highway 96 and reportedly failed to yield at a stop sign for a black Ram pickup traveling southbound on US701.
The pickup struck the driver’s side of the SUV in the intersection, forcing the SUV into the path of a Amazon delivery van traveling northbound on US 701. The SUV and van collided head on.
Two people in the Honda were injured, one reportedly with serious injuries. Four people in the pickup sustained minor injuries. The Amazon driver was not injured. The accident victims were transported to area hospitals.
The State Highway Patrol is investigating the collision. Four Oaks Police, Four Oaks Fire and Johnston County EMS responded.
