Smithfield Police and the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office are investigating three business break-ins reported Monday.
Deputies discovered Mi Carta and Ana’s Restaurant and Pizza, adjacent businesses on Highway 70 Business West at Swift Creek Road were broken into between 1:15am and 9:00am Monday. The suspect or suspects damaged a front door to gain entry into both stores. Once inside the pizza business, a cash register was vandalized and opened but no cash had been left in the register.
Smithfield Police said someone attempted to remove a window to gain entry into Columbia Factory Store on Outlet Center Drive. The window seal was damaged but entry was not made.
No arrests have been made in the three incidents.
