An undisclosed amount of money was taken during an armed robbery at a Smithfield business.

The suspect then held one employee at gunpoint while forcing the manager to hand over an undisclosed amount of money, according to Smithfield Police Captain R.K. Powell.
Afterwards, the suspect fled on foot. No injuries were reported.
