The Downtown Smithfield Development Corporation and Smithfield Parks and Recreation will host Smithfield’s Christmas Tree Lighting at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 7th at the corner of Third and Market Streets.
Attendees will be treated to performances by chorus and band students from South Smithfield Elementary School, West Smithfield Elementary School, Smithfield Middle School, Smithfield-Selma High School, and Neuse Charter School, as well as dance groups from Artistry in Motion and Carolina Dance Productions.
Prior to the tree being lit, there will also be free hot chocolate and cookie decorating, and a chance to participate in the Cake Dive for a chance to win $100 Downtown Smithfield Dollars. The night will end with Christmas carols, and a special visitor from the North Pole helping to light the tree.
