A local church is planning a memorial service to remember the victims of the Charleston, SC church shooting. Nine people were shot and killed during Wednesday night prayer services at the Emanuel AME Church.
The suspect in the case, Dylann Storm Roof, 21, was apprehended in Shelby, NC on Thursday.
The tragedy has touched many people in the local area.
St. Peter’s Disciples of Christ Church of Christ, located at 1011 East Massey Street in Smithfield will hold a Prayer Vigil for Charleston on Tuesday, June 23rd from12 Noon until 1pm. The vigil will be officiated by Bishop Richard Johnson. The public is invited to attend.
