A fire that damaged a Smithfield home over-the-weekend has been ruled accidental.
The fire was discovered at 12:13am Saturday at 103 Maple Drive in West Smithfield. It took fire departments from Smithfield, Selma, Wilson’s Mills and Clayton to contain the blaze.
Johnston County Fire Marshal Adam Stanley said the fire started in a storage/mechanical closet. No injuries were reported. Photos by John Payne
