Smithfield Man Linked To $85,000 In Stolen Property Found In Woods

The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Smithfield man for possessing and receiving stolen property after $85,000 in stolen construction equipment was found in a wooded area behind a home at 1828 Hockaday Road just south of the Four Oaks city limits.

Heraclio Flores Aguilar, 22, of the 4200 block of Black Creek Road was arrested on four felony charges.

On Monday, deputies conducting a search warrant seized two stolen excavators and a stolen dump trailer. One excavator had been stolen from alongside I-40 near Wilmington last Saturday. The second excavator had been taken from the Dollar General construction site on W. Market Street in Smithfield.  The dump trailer had been taken from a construction site off Highway 210 in western Johnston County.

A stolen weed eater from Virginia was also recovered at the scene.

Aguilar was placed in the Johnston County Jail in lieu of a $100,000 bond.
