SMITHFIELD – Police continue to investigate a shooting that seriously injured a Smithfield man. Christian Jamian Watson was shot around 4:43am last Friday, July 28th while at the Johnson Court Apartments on Kay Drive.
Police arrived to found numerous bullet casings and blood in the parking lot. While securing the crime scene, police said the 47 year-old victim showed up at UNC Health in Smithfield for treatment of multiple gunshot wounds. He was later transferred to WakeMed. At last report, Watson remains hospitalized in serious but stable condition.
Information on a possible motive or suspect has not been released. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact Smithfield Police.
