In response to the Phase Two reopening plan issued by Governor Roy Cooper, the Smithfield Parks and Recreation Department has announced the following measures:
Athletic fields and shelters will be open for rentals beginning June 1st. Athletic fields will be open for practice only. Reservations can be made, beginning Thursday, May 28th, by calling 919-934-2148 during normal business hours. Per Executive Order 141, social distancing must be maintained and gatherings are limited to 25 persons.
The Smithfield Recreation and Aquatic Center will open the pool to members for lap swimming only beginning June 1st. Reservations can be made, in one hour increments, for the following times:
Monday through Friday: 5:30am-9:30am and 2:00pm-6:00pm
Saturday: 8:00am-12:00pm
Reservations will be accepted beginning Thursday, May 28th by phone 919-934-1408 or by email SRACPool@smithfield-nc.com during normal business hours.
Basketball courts, playgrounds and restrooms will remain closed; tennis courts remain open.
