Police detectives are asking for assistance identify a man who robbed a convenience store last week. As first reported on JoCoReport, the robbery happened last Wednesday, Nov. 6th around 11:00pm at the Speedway at 2103 S. Brightleaf Boulevard.
Smithfield Police Captain R. Sheppard said a lone black male suspect entered the business with his face covered. The suspect displayed a handgun and demanded the clerk hand over money. The suspect then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
A Johnston County Sheriff’s Office K-9 was brought to the scene and tracked the suspect about 3 blocks until loosing the trail. No injuries were reported.
