Smithfield To Unveil New Greytown Landmark Sign With Ribbon Cutting
SMITHFIELD, N.C. – The Town of Smithfield will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony April 1 to mark the installation of a new landmark sign recognizing the Greytown community.
The ceremony is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. at the corner of U.S. 70 Business West and Hill Street.
Greytown has long been recognized as one of Smithfield’s historic communities. Town officials recently installed the new sign to replace an older marker and to continue recognizing the neighborhood’s identity and history.
Officials and residents are expected to gather for a brief ceremony celebrating Greytown’s role in the town’s development and its longstanding presence in the community.
The event is open to the public, and community members are encouraged to attend.
