SMITHFIELD – The Town of Smithfield has announced the promotion of Town Clerk Shannan Parrish to Director of Human Resources. Mrs. Parrish has been a dedicated public servant with the Town of Smithfield since 2005 and has served as the Town Clerk since June 2011.
Over nearly two decades, she has earned numerous professional credentials, including her NCCMC, CMC, MMC, and Athenian Fellow certifications. Notably, Shannan is the first Clerk in North Carolina to become an approved Athenian Dialogue Facilitator, a testament to her commitment to professional development and excellence.
Shannan holds Associate Degrees in Accounting and Business Administration from Johnston Community College, reflecting her commitment to education and self-improvement.
Shannan’s heart for the Town’s employees is a driving force behind her work, as she firmly believes that they are the Town of Smithfield’s greatest asset.
