Four temporary positions at the Johnston County Department of Social Services in Smithfield are being converted into two full-time positions.
According to Scott Sabatino, Social Services Director, the agency needs Policy Trainers for Medicaid and Food Stamps to assist staff with on-going changes in State Policy.
Commissioners approved a request by the DSS Director to take four temporary positions for the NC Fast program and convert them into two permanent full-time Staff Development Positions. The temp positions were budgeted this year at $125,224. The permanent positions will cost $89,462.
“This would allow our agency to get the on-going policy training that our staff would greatly benefit from when serving their clients,” Sabatino wrote in an email.
