The Town of Clayton is working with developers to try and solve complaints about soil erosion and even possible sinkholes. The problems have been reported in two developments in recent weeks.
Complaints have steadily been coming in from homeowners in the Mitchiner Hills and Creekside communities. Recent rains have made the problems worse.
Johnston County erosion control specialists have also examined the issues.
Several members of the Clayton town council have viewed the problems in person but say it is not the towns responsibility for making the repairs. A town engineer gave council members an update on the problems this month and said they are working with the developers to try and have them address the concerns of the residents.
