The Four Oaks Chamber of Commerce has selected Latissa Hampton, Joy McGee, Brandy Peters and Tabitha Ward as their March 2019 school system employees of the Month. South Johnston High School nominated them for the honor.  The counseling team was presented with a certificate of recognition as well as a bag of gifts from many of the Chamber member businesses.

The Four Oaks Chamber of Commerce is honored to recognize the lasting contributions made to the Four Oaks community by our school counselors.

South Johnston High School shared as part of this nomination, “Our counselors are constantly motivating and inspiring our students by meeting individually with them, as well as helping with college applications, finding scholarships and being a mentor to our students.  The counseling team at South Johnston works with our feeder schools transitioning students to high school.  They involve the community to help with careers and mentoring programs for our students.”

“Vince Lombardi wrote, “Individual commitment to a group effort – that’s what makes a team work, a company work, a society work, a civilization work.”  This is a clear-cut definition of our counseling team at South Johnston. These counselors work together to make South Johnston High School the best it can be.  From making the yearly schedule of classes, to helping with various applications, to listening to a child or gathering work when a child is sick, our counselors go the extra mile to make each child very special. Each one has a different and unique personality which creates the 4 dynamic counselors we have at South.  We are very lucky to have 4 dedicated and caring counselors.”
