South Johnston High Educator Receives Award

The Johnston County Board of Education recognized South Johnston High English Teacher Shelly Cook (left) for being selected as a Claes Nobel Educator of Distinction for excellence in teaching and dedication to academic success of students.

In 2011, the National Society of High School Scholars established the Claes Nobel Educator of the Year Award to spotlight educator accomplishments. Cook was nominated for the award by a former student.
