A Kenly area mobile home was damaged beyond repair Friday evening. Fire crews from Kenly, Micro, Pine Level and Bethany responded to a 5:35pm 911 call reporting a blaze at 449 Piney Grove Church Road.
Firefighters arrived to find a singlewide mobile home engulfed in flames. The fire was brought under control in about 25 minutes but the home was a total loss.
Johnston County Fire Marshal Adam Stanley said the fire started after the property owner cut a metal pipe inside the rear of the home and the sparks ignited the contents.
No injuries were reported.
The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office provided traffic control until the scene was cleared. Johnston County EMS also responded.
